Good & Perfect
Last week our clients who birthed babies in 2025 stopped by Marshall Pregnancy Resource Center for celebration and connection. Mommas brought their little ones and the Center was filled with relaxed conversation and fun.
I'm so thankful for our sweet staff who serve with hospitality and love.
There were gifts for the moms plus a holiday trip through the baby boutique where they chose items for their child and something to share with a friend.
How grateful we are for generous partners in our community who give to make giving possible.
One mom couldn't make it last week because of car trouble, so we encouraged her to come by this week. I opened the door to see an energetic young woman with the smiliest baby perched on her hip.
When I invited her to look through the baby boutique, she hoisted the infant onto her other hip and asked, "Do you have one of those baby carriers ... you know that strap around you so your arms don't get tired?
I admitted that I hadn't seen one, but said we could surely look for one together.
Meanwhile, one of our staff answered the front door to find one of the moms from last week's party holding a bag of baby items she had brought to donate.
They set the bag down, and happy hellos echoed through the hall until we were five women and one grinning child standing together in the small, seemingly sacred space.
I loop the others into our failed attempt to find an infant carrier.
But instead of sharing in our disappointment, the second mom just leaves. I step out to follow and almost run into her as she returns, waving a sturdy, strappy, fabric carrier. She holds it out for the other mom, and the tiny room erupts in surprise and joy.
I reach to hold the baby and offer the second momma a high five. "Way to be awesome and save the day!"
The first momma silently smiles with bright eyes. I affirm the hope we all feel ... as evidenced by our goose-bumped arms. "God sure knows how to meet our needs!"
Every good and perfect gift is from above … (James 1:17)
I believe generosity leads to gratitude, and thankful hearts propel giving hands. And so on.
What a privilege to get a front row seat for this flow of countless blessings ... the giving and receiving. 🤍
