Homecoming
She is in her soft launch called the high school years where she is responsible for filling out paperwork and registering for things and paying for her gas. So she handled all the Homecoming logistics and preparations for herself.
Her friends spent the day here and they all looked SO sharp as they walked out the door.
Maybe it is the benefit of watching five older siblings ultimately succeed, but this girl understands the assignment: be faithful with a little, be entrusted with more.
Her daddy gave everybody the “4000 Pound Missile” speech about driver safety and no-phone zones. Freedom bound by limits.
She is self-aware and attentive to others. She helps and encourages and tries to keep her sass in check. She works hard and sleeps even harder. She procrastinates about laundry but insists on being early to school. She likes organized tidiness in all the world except her bedroom floor … that place is perpetually a straight-up sty. No lie.
But she is cute. So she can be a secret slob I guess.
I'll ask her to clean it [again] tomorrow, but tonight she is out and about: dressed up, dining, dancing, laughing, and taking gobs of photos.
I love her.
